A 20-year-old Pacific Grove man was found dead in his home Friday evening, the victim of an apparent overdose of narcotics. Deputy Coroner Robert Shaw identified the victim as Steven Jacquez of 2837 Forest Hill Blvd. Shaw said that the case is still under investigation to determine whether the overdose was accidental. Jacquez, a student at Monterey Peninsula College, was discovered dead by some other MPC students who also rented rooms at the Forest Hill boulevard residence. The victim was believed to have been dead since Thursday, Shaw said. The body was taken to Paul Mortuary. Police said Jacquez had been employed by Grove Pharmacy in Pacific Grove and was last seen alive Wednesday evening. Police said some 400 seconal capsules were found in the room.

Private family services for Steven C. Jacquez of Pacific Grove were held today at the Little Chapel by-the-Sea with the Rev. Glen Fisk of Mayflower Church officiating. He died Thursday at the age of 22. A native of Reno, Nev., he had been a Pacific Grove resident for five years, and was a student at Monterey Peninsula College. He leaves his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Oliverio Gomez of Pacific Grove; his grandmother, Mrs. Rosario Ayala of Reno; and two sisters, Angela and Kathia Gomez, both of Pacific Grove. Private inurnment will be arranged by Paul Mortuary.
